WHY BRITAIN IS GREAT
Before I start I want you to know it's not within the British makeup to blow ones own trumpet but ours is a really rather nice trumpet so I'll give it a quick toot OK.
1.) 'The Origin Of The Species' was a book by Charles Darwin which informed mankind that we evolved from ape like beings. It also kind of showed Christianity up in the process.
2.)Gravity was discovered by Sir Isaac Newton so we know why most things stick to the ground.
3.)Sport (The Ball) created in the Earths image the ball has given way to almost every sport:
Football (soccer) is without doubt the global game and football stadiums are our Colosseums all over the planet.
Rugby which evolved into American football
Netball which evolved into Basketball
Softball/Rounders which evolved into Baseball
Field Hockey which evolved into Ice Hockey
Snooker which evolved into Pool
Tennis which evolved into Table Tennis
Cricket and Golf
4.)Multiculturalism: thanks to Britains sailors the world is a more familiar, friendly place.
5.)Art: Britain has been at the forefront of art for centuries now including Poetry, Film and Music...Beatles anyone?
6.)The Television: John Logie Baird I will always love you!
7.)The Telephone: America try to nick this one but Alexander Graham Bell was a Brit, he only vistited the US.
8.)The Communications Satellite: not only did Arthur C. Clarke co-write "2001-A Space Odessey" he made it possible to watch things happening on the other side of the planet instantly.
9.)2 World Wars: the cost of war can never truly be accounted for, we salute you!
10.)The Computer: Charles Babbage was obviously ahead of his time.
11.)The World Wide Web: Sir Tim Berners Lee had a little idea called "Enquire" ...look what happened!!
12.)D.N.A: Watson and Crick (OK one was a Yank, I'll give you that one)
13.)The Electric Motor/Internal Combustion Engine/Jet Engine: Michael Faraday, Samuel Brown and Sir Frank Whittle respectivley, Broom Broom.
14.)The Locomotive: Richard Trevithick without whom we would never have had Thomas the Tank Engine.
15.)Penicillin: Alexander Flemming making us all feel a bit better.
16.)The Submarine: William Bourne.
17.)Viagra: Peter Dunne/Albert Wood (yes WOOD)and Dr. Nicholas Territt, I'll thank them when I'm older.
18.)The English Language: it isnt the most widely spoken but is without doubt the international language of business.
19.)The Opium Wars: only Britain has been cool enough to force feed Opium to China backed up by the Royal navy.
20.)The English Rose, basically we've been breeding classy, highly intelligent, diginfied women for quite some time now.
21.)Stephen Hawking (wrote "A Brief History Of Time") talks about the galaxy and he is the most intelligent man in the galaxy. Funny.
22.)Emily Pankhurst shows real girl power and forces government to give women the vote. Before any other country.
23.)Britain inherited the slave trade from the Arabs and turned it into a global multi-million pound industry then at its height abolished it due to pressure at home over its obvious inhumanity. 30 years before The U.S. had a civil war over the matter.
24.)The Industrial Revolution spawns the modernisation of machinery. (Because our revolutions are not riots).

THE GLOBE OUR APHRODISIAC
I see China going for gold
Will they attack just like the old
Or will peace and freedom prevail
So we can drink our ale
On and in the globe our aphrodisiac
It is our drug, it is our food
Provoking sexual desire amongst the wise
Peace n' love,

THE POLICE STATE
We could condsider the police state in return for the legalization of LSD, Ecstacy and Marijuana.
Society would be positively changed, vilolence and crime would drop, people would be psychologically enlightened and taken to a higher state of consciousness.
We would be safe.
Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey.

CAPITALISM
Capitalism creates a Plutonomy, a form of society that only feeds the rich and exploits the poor in every/any way.
If it is to succeed for one year all tax collected by the government should be re-distributed equally amongst the people. To give them a taste of wealth, a taste of Capitalism. This would temporarily turn the pyramid of society up side down with many at the top and only a few at the bottom. This would only be an extension of the transparent dangeling carrot we have become subconsciously used to.
We have seen on both sides of the Atlantic how politicians have been stealing our taxes, the money meant to improve our standard of living and we have all become aware on how the banks take the piss.
Basically there are alot of very rich people and alot of very poor people.
We need problem solvers people.

WORLD WAR 3 (DIRECTORS CUT)
If your like some who consider the Napoleonic wars the 1st world war then the 3rd world war (to some WW2) is the topic for this blog.
Obviously we owe a great debt to our American cousins, this we all know but the history books and my late grandfather have another veiw.
1.)Defeat of Italian Navy in the Med. sea
2.)Australians force Japenese out of South Pacific (in the swamp!)
3.)Billy Slim (who? thats my point) forces Japenese out of India and Burma with Anglo/Indian force.
4.)Defeat of Nazis in North Africa freeing up entire Southern hemisphere to Allied ships.
5.)Sinking of Bismark
6.)Capturing of Enigma coding device
7.)Defeat of Nazis in Battle of Britain repelling invasion with global empire force.
Our weak spot was Asia namely Hong Kong and Singapore and of corse theres the Empire Of The Sun to remind us this.
Also U571 which had the Enigma device being captured by an American force was a bit cheeky maybe even bordering on propaganda.
How many American films have there been about this war? How many have featured the massive impact Britain had on it? Strange.

BRAIN DRAIN
Trying to deal with the age of austerity was made humerous by the song "Running The World" by Jarvis Cocker and it was at around that point I was reminded of a question Syd Barrett begged, "What exactly is a joke?" all I can think of it is a chink in the armour of the machine, the complete falibility of the entire existence of man. Take it away Jarvis...
"The working classes are obsolete
They are surplus to societies needs
So let them all kill each other
And get it made over seas.
Brain drain being the fact that the majority of Britains best qualified personel find themselves more suited to what the rest of the world has to offer.

REALITY CHECK
I'm sure your all very happy living in the West blessed with such choice. I'm a bit different and I'm not the only one, this was my reality check at the cornershop.
We all love Minstrels but now we have Counters, we have the technology to make this happen! Minstrels with a crispy coating or without the crispy coating!!
Now picture the counters - Now picture an African mother holding her child that is too weak to cry - Picture the resignation in the mothers eyes - Now picture the Counters
Now picture the mother empty handed, baby dead.
Do you ever get the feeling you should be doing something more important?
